Guyra Shire Council Use of web 2.0 technologies
The Guyra Shire coucil does not use many web 2.0 technologies, however it features 'Ask a Local Librarian'. This web 2.0 technology allows for the patron to be assissted by a library professional away from the library. I would strongly reccommend this library start up a twitter account, blog page, facebook page, and other such web 2.0 technologies as it would allow them to have a higher level of interaction with their patrons and recieve feedback, reviews and advertise their events.
An example of the use of web 2.0 technologis at best practice libraries world wideis the use of
blogs, Twitter, Flickr and wiki's at the State Library of NSW. Further information about this libraries web 2.0 technologies can be found through the following link:
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/services/public_libraries/networking/index.html
children:
if guyra's library were to invest in more web 2.0 technologies, then more children would take an interest in the library as the library would be much more a part of the community.
Teenager/Youth:
Teenagers would definatley take more interest library events and would make more use of library resources if guyra's library had a facebook or twitter page as these web 2.0 technologies are a major medium of socialising, interacting and sharing information between young people. Many young people from the Guyra district would find 'Ask a local librarian' useful as it would enable them to easily find the resources they need.

Blog activity 5 – inviting people to be authors on your blog
This has been completed.
Investigative Exercise 6 Social Bookmarking
After reading the reviews, I definantly believe that all libraries should provide this service as it provides their patrons with reviews from other library clients which have read the book, what the book is about and what they rated it, it also helps them decide whether or not they would like to borrow the title.
Although my local library does not seem to have this option available; it does have a 'recommended reading' and a 'Have you read?' section which may also be useful to library patrons.
